Kabushima, Breeding Place for Black-Tailed Gulls

The Kabushima, an island which is now connected with a coast by reclamation, is one of the breeding places for black-tailed gulls in Japan designated as national natural treasures, and is regarded as the only one that can be gotten very close to among those; the estimated number of the birds staying in the island, having the circumference of about 800 meters, during spring and summer is around thirty thousand.
