Odate, Birthplace of Akita Inu

It is introduced that ancestor breeds of the Akita Inu, which had been hunting dogs since the ancient times, were kept and bred in mainly today's Odate City and around. The Hachi in the famous story "Chuken Hachi-ko", or Hachi the faithful dog, was an Akita Inu lived in Tokyo from the late 1920s until the early 1930s.
