Giant in Hitachi Fudoki

Okushi Shell Mound in Mito was regarded as a midden of hard clams caught and eaten by a giant with 72-meter-long footprints who lived nearby, according to a legend included in Hitachi Fudoki, a gazetteer of local lives and culture published in the early 620s.
